The first phase, Eldon Square West has already provided an additional 22,000sq ft (2,000sq m) of new ratail on Blackettbridge mall for retailers such as Jack and Jones, Carphone Warehouse and Holland & Barratt.

Two new restaurants - Strada and Wagamama have also opened overlooking Old Eldon Square and have bought new vitality to the area.

To compliment the restaurants, the City of Newcastle has commenced work to upgrade the landscaping and lighting and also the restoration of the war memorial in this area. Click here to view the proposed design.
